We've been around for nearly six years now and have already established ourselves as the world's largest pure online bank. Today, we have over 3.2 million customers. In June 2000 we listed on the London Stock exchange, so we're now 79% owned by Prudential plc (the leading international financial services group) and 21% owned by our shareholders.
Our workforce of over 2,200 are based in three locations in the UK Derby, London and Dudley. In November 2002 we launched in France. We've always intended to develop into an international company and launching in France was our first step.
Egg plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is the parent company of a number of companies which make up the Egg group, and which trade under the name 'Egg'. Giving a bit back
Now we've proved we're a sustainably profitable business we reckon it's about time to start to give something back, and as we're based in Derby, we thought this would be a good place to start. We want to help as many worthy causes as possible, so we've decided to create a fund that makes grants and to volunteer elbow grease where we can.
