Halifax Hasslefree bank account switching
You can switch your current bank account to the Halifax in three easy steps.
We have a dedicated team who personally take care of all the paperwork or, if you want to switch it yourself you can use our online transfer pack.
There's no reason not to switch your account. It's hasslefree, and there's someone to help you every step of the way.
All you need to do is follow these three easy steps:
1 Tell The Halifax what needs switching
Open your
new Halifax Current Account or Halifax Extras Current Account, and give us
the details of your old bank account. We contact your old bank to get a list
of all standing orders and direct debits, and send you the list to confirm
it's correct.
All you have to do is continue using your old account, while The Halifax does
all the work.
2 The Halifax switch it
The Halifax
contacts the organisations you have direct debits with, and give them your
new account details. We contact your old bank and cancel your standing orders
and direct debits. Then The Halifax contacts your employer, and anyone else
who pays money into your account, and give them your new details.
Then you can start using your new Halifax Current Account or Halifax Extras
Current Account.
3 We help check things are running smoothly
We send you confirmation of all
direct debits and standing orders set up in your account. A month later, we
send you an update letter.
All you have to do is close your old bank account. We even provide the letter
to send them.
