We have always worked closely with the communities we serve. Our roots as
a building society established way back in 1859 lie in supporting the community, and today our commitment is as strong as ever.
That's
why we aim to remain a strong regional mutual building society here for
everyone, to help in any way we can.
Throughout
the Derbyshire we are unified in one aim: To make a difference.
Every
year we donate funds to community projects and charities, but our work in
this area is not just about money. It's also about investing time, imagination,
effort and expertise to support projects and stimulate new initiatives.
Everyone
in the Derbyshire is encouraged to take part in community and charity events.
Every individual is aware of the value we place on community involvement
a value that is supported by the presentation of a 'Contribution to the Community'
award form our Chief Executive to a member of staff whose efforts in the community
have been exceptional.
Underlining
this, in the year 2000 we formed the Community Development Team to coordinate
some but my no means all of the many initiatives we support. Last year,
we supported more than 350 projects with our community partners.
