DANCE CARNIVAL IS A FOOT STOMPING SUCCESS
the Shepshed
spring dance festival was hailed a huge success as many of the Midlands finest
dancers gathe red to participate in the competitions. Hosted at Hind Leys Community
College over a period of 4 days, the festival was a display of many dancing
the mes including; ballet, tap modern, lyrical, acrobatics, character, Greek
and national dance.

of the show came from a local dance school, the Charnwood School of Dance,
who managed to accumulate a staggering 191 gold, silver and bronze medals
as well as 14 major trophies.

on display at the festival were all of the highest standard and were being
presided over by top IDTA adjudicator Miss Jean Pearce.

of the members from the Charnwood School of Dance at the postfestival awards
ceremony where the y posed for a photo shoot with just a few of the school's
well earned rewards.

CRICKET
SUPPORT INCREASED TO UNDER 13's TEAM
Building
on our strong support for local cricket. Shepshed Building Society is pleased
to add the under 13's team from Shepshed Town Cricket Club to its list of
current sponsorships. Shepshed Building Society Chief Executive Greg Williamson
recently presented the team with the ir new kit at the clubs ground on Morley
Lane. the team, with a fresh look, will now be wearing the ir new kit to all
upcoming fixtures.

FOR SCHOOLS
St.
Winefrides R.C. primary school has been given a much appreciated boost to
the ir books library thanks to a successful book fair held on the 18th and
19th of June and receipt of a £200 donation from the Shepshed Building
Society. Foyles Educational Children's Books Ltd. prompted the Society into
action through a scheme which aims to help schools expand the ir libraries
by seeking investment from companies in the local community. David Challenger
and John Gamble, both pupils at St. Winefrides wrote to Greg Williamson, the Society's Chief Executive, in order to thank him on behalf of the school and
to let him know that thanks to the ir donation the children had been able to
choose a variety of books that would be of benefit to the m during the ir literacy
hour.
MILLENNIUM CLOCK KEEPS TICKING
