The
local under 16's cricket team was delighted with their new training gear.
"It's fantastic to be able to support such young talent" stressed
Greg Williamson of the Shepshed Building Society.
DANCE CARNIVAL IS A FOOT STOMPING SUCCESS
The Shepshed spring dance festival was hailed a huge success as many of the Midlands finest dancers gathered to participate in the competitions. Hosted at Hind Leys Community College over a period of 4 days, the festival was a display of many dancing themes including; ballet, tap modern, lyrical, acrobatics, character, Greek and national dance.
The stars of the show came from a local dance school, The Charnwood School of Dance, who managed to accumulate a staggering 191 gold, silver and bronze medals as well as 14 major trophies.
The performances
on display at the festival were all of the highest standard and were being
presided over by top IDTA adjudicator Miss Jean Pearce.
Shepshed
Building Society Chief Executive Greg Williamson managed to congratulate some
of the members from The Charnwood School of Dance at the postfestival awards
ceremony where they posed for a photo shoot with just a few of the school's
well earned rewards.
PCs FOR SCHOOLS
Greg Williamson
of the Shepshed Building Society was delighted to be able to donate a number
of computers to the local schools of Shepshed
"We
are constantly revising internal computer networks to keep ahead of technology
and provide the most efficient service for our customers, this allows us to
make good use of computers we no longer require by supplying valuable hardware
for the local schools".
CRICKET
SUPPORT INCREASED TO UNDER 13's TEAM
Building
on our strong support for local cricket. Shepshed Building Society is pleased
to add the under 13's team from Shepshed Town Cricket Club to its list of
current sponsorships. Shepshed Building Society Chief Executive Greg Williamson
recently presented the team with their new kit at the clubs ground on Morley
Lane. The team, with a fresh look, will now be wearing their new kit to all
upcoming fixtures.
BOOKS
FOR SCHOOLS
St.
Winefrides R.C. primary school has been given a much appreciated boost to
their books library thanks to a successful book fair held on the 18th and
19th of June and receipt of a £200 donation from the Shepshed Building
Society. Foyles Educational Children's Books Ltd. prompted the Society into
action through a scheme which aims to help schools expand their libraries
by seeking investment from companies in the local community. David Challenger
and John Gamble, both pupils at St. Winefrides wrote to Greg Williamson, the
Society's Chief Executive, in order to thank him on behalf of the school and
to let him know that thanks to their donation the children had been able to
choose a variety of books that would be of benefit to them during their literacy
hour.
