CCC's
Mortgage Providers
The Loughborough was originally formed in 1867 by a group of businessmen who
ran the Society for the benefit of the community, almost as a hobby. For the
first 66 years of its existence, the Society was run by the Cattell family
from a Coal Merchants office.
From such humble beginnings, the Society has grown steadily, but has always remained very much part of the local community. Head Office moved to its current site in 1974, and 2 years later opened a branch in Long Eaton. The office in Derby opened in 1988, and in 1996 Loughborough branch was moved out of Head Office to its current premises at 4 High Street.
Today, the Society has total assets in excess of £180 million, and continues to aspire to being the number 1 provider of mortgages and savings for the East Midlands.
The Loughborough
remains committed to continuing as a mutual organisation as Chief Executive,
Stephen Peete explains:
'The Loughborough is a local Building Society, our aim is to offer good value
mortgages and investments to both existing and new members. We believe that
remaining as a mutual organisation, without the additional cost of external
shareholders, is the best way to ensure the Society continues to grow and
prosper'.
The Loughborough will accept mortgage applications from applicants purchasing
or remortgaging in England or Wales.
The Loughborough subscribes to the Mortgage Code and offers an advice and recommendation service as well as an information only service. This website provides information only on the Society's range of mortgage products. Applicants wishing to receive advice and recommendation as to which might be the best product to choose should contact the Society using the feedback form
The Society will only accept mortgage applications from intermediaries if they are registered under the Code.
