the Holmesdale Building Society has been in existence since 1855 and whilst
over much of our history our membership has been mainly local, over the last
two decades we have widened our area of activities and now have members in
many parts of the country, and abroad.
the Holmesdale is a mutual run for members' benefit and since
we do not pay dividends to shareholders, members' interests are paramount.
We offer a personal and efficient service linked to one of the lowest standard
variable lending rates in the industry and pay better than average rates to
investors.
the graph below indicates how the Society's assets have steadily
increased from £5.2m in 1970 to over £127m in 2003.
Despite
our steady growth over the period we still like to consider ourselves as REIGATE'S
own LOCAL BUILDING SOCIETY serving the many people of Reigate and the surrounding
area.
