The Earl Shilton Building Society is a subscriber to The BSA (Building Societies
Association), The Banking Code and The Mortgage Code and is a member of The
General Insurance Standards Council.
If you are not happy with your choice of investment account, within 14 days
after the day of opening it we will allow you to switch to another account
or return your money with interest (which will be subject to deduction of
tax).If you decide to exercise your right of cancellation you must inform
the Society in writing, within the 14 day period.
The Society operates an internal complaints procedure and is covered by the
Financial Ombudsman Service. Details available on request.
Accounts only available to people living inside the following postcode areas:
LE, CV9CV13 and DE11DE15, except existing customers. Minimum balance £1000
on all existing accounts outside postcode area must be maintained.
The Earl Shilton Building Society is a participant in the Financial Services
Compensation Scheme established under the Financial Services and Markets Act
2000. Payments under the Scheme are limited to a maximum of £31,700,
that is 100% of the first £2,000 of an investor’s total shares and/or
deposits in a Society, and 90% of the next £33,000.
Most investors are covered, including individuals and small firms.
When opening an account full identification will be required under money laundering
regulations.
