The Chesham is the oldest Building Society in the World.
Since 1845 we have been helping local residents to buy their own homes as
well as offering a secure home for their savings. We also play an active part
in the local community, supporting local charities and clubs.
Since we began over 150 years ago we have built up a reputation for security and stability. We also pride ourselves on the efficient, personal and friendly service we give to our members.
The Chesham Building Society is a mutual institution which means we are owned by our members. As such we are fully accountable to them, and we don't have shareholders to satisfy. This means that instead of paying dividends we can return profits to our members in the form of better savings and mortgage rates.
